RIM - Firentinski nadbiskup Giuseppe Betori (64) ostao je neozlijeđen u atentatu pištoljem u petak uvečer, jer ga je tijelom zaštitio njegov osobni tajnik don Paolo Brogi (41), ranjen u trbuh i prenesen u bolnicu u teškom stanju.

Nisu poznati motivi atentatora, starijeg Talijana (oko 70), navodno neprisebnog klošara, koga je policija privela.
